Peru - Trujillo "Combine charity work with surfing"
Not a traditional Surf Internship but definitely worth considering. This is a great opportunity to live near some great surf spots whilst working for a really good cause, SKIP, which describes itself as "a non-profit organization helping economically-disadvantaged children in El Porvenir to realize their right to an education". If you visit during their summer (the Northern hemisphere's winter) you will get the chance to help teach these kids to surf, which is both an incredibly rewarding and fun experience. They also need help throughout the year to organise other sports activities. The SKIP Volunteer house is in Trujillo, just twenty mintues from Huanchaco, one of the best breaks in northern Peru and two hours from Chicama, the longest left in the world. For a more detailed explanation of SKIP's work please go to www.skipperu.org * There is no arrangement fee for this placement as SKIP is financed by 'contribution fees' from volunteers.
